One of the most important women in my life is my mom. She has done so much for me and I’m grateful to have such a wonderful mom. One of the biggest things she has done for me, is being an advocate for my well being. When I was in the womb, the doctor said I was too sick and would require assistance to do basic activities my whole life. I only had one kidney, it was not working well and there were multiple other negative markers to consider. The doctor recommended abortion. My mom and dad discussed it and decided they did not want to abort me. My mom did a lot of research, found another doctor and put together a plan to give me the best chance to thrive possible. Luckily, I was doing a whole lot better than the first doctor thought after birth and mom and dad were super happy. I was kept in the hospital for about a week and my mom fought to get me in a program where I could be treated at home so I didn’t spend my first six months of my life in a hospital. It required my mom doing a lot of medical procedures at home for the first 2 years of my life. I’m so glad my mom fought to bring me home with my family where I got lots of love and care. After a year or two I needed a new kidney transplant and my mom really wanted to do it. Unfortunately, she couldn’t donate and my dad ended up giving his kidney. My mom does so much for me, she takes care of me when I get sick, makes sure everything is good for me with my labs and she always wants the best for me. I feel and know I can trust her and talk to her about everything. If I ever need to talk to her about something, she won’t get mad, she’ll just try to help me get me through it. I really appreciate that and trust my mom so much. I love my relationship with my mom and I don’t want to to change at all. I’m truly grateful for my mom and everything she does for me, I love my mom so much and I can’t thank her enough for all she has done for me though out my whole life!
Dinner
If I could invite three people to dinner, I would invite my great Grandpa, great Grandma and my dad. I would invite them to dinner and the reason why my dad is invited is because he’s very helpful, gives good advice and he’s funny. He would also love to see his grandpa and grandma again as they were very special to him. I saw my great grandma many times when I was a little kid, up until I was maybe like eight or nine. Seeing her again would make me so happy. I used to play uno with her and I would always have to explain the uno rules every time as her memory was fading. As for my great grandpa, I never met him, but my grandma always told me stories about him. Like how he was a good guy, very relaxed personality and he also manned tanks in the Vietnam War. He was one of the people in the Sherman tank, I don’t know what position he was and apparently he didn’t really talk about his time in the war, but I would like to learn about it. Things like what he experienced in war, what position he was in the tank and how him and his team handled the stressful situation. That stuff is very interesting to me, so him telling me that would mean a lot to me and to actually see him would be very interesting. I don’t really know what he looks like because the photos are only in black and white. So that’s why I want to see my great grandpa and I know my dad would love to see him too and those are the people I would invite to my dinner.
